Expectations

You will be expected to read 10 minutes every day in class.  But,  you may read whatever you'd like!  Be sure to have something to read EVERY day...or you will be reading from a text book.  Reading time is reading time.  Nothing else...no phones, no iPads, no homework...READ.

You will log-in the number of pages you read daily.  You will be expected to read outside of class as well...at night, at home, during the weekend, etc.  Our goal is to read 100 pages a week.  The log will be due on Mondays.

You will be expected to read at least a book a month.  9 books of your own choosing for Junior Year.

Reading Assignments

You will also need to write a Weekly Thought Journal.  In it, you will summarize, analyze/criticize, and evaluate a quotation.  This is due EVERY Thursday.

You will also have a one-on-one weekly conference with me about your book.  You will tell me about your book.  I may even ask you questions about it.

You will also have a weekly quiz about your chosen book.  This will happen at the end of the week.

You will also need to complete a book of the month form about your chosen book...one per month...new book each month.
